"He literally sinks into the piano and I wish I could let myself fall into classical music like that." Martin
With his original compositions, the gesticulating composer and pianist Michael Nickel from Berlin takes his listeners on a journey in which he immerses himself completely in the music. When he improvises, it is as if he intuitively structures emotion in time. The result is a sound full of tension, intensity and dynamics.
He is inspired by classics like Debussy, J.S. Bach, Chopin and also modern musicians like Keith Jarrett, Yann Tiersen, Ryūichi Sakamoto, Max Richter & Ólafur Arnalds.
